Hello, my name is Alexandra Hollander & I am the owner & founder of MINI'S MATTER Rescue, Recovery & Retirement Program for Miniature Horses & Ponies. It was about 9 yrs. ago when I found myself in a situation that made me question what happens to all the unwanted, unloved, abused, neglected and elderly miniature horses? I have heard of big horse rescues but never one just for miniature horses & ponies. That's when it hit me "MINI'S MATTER" too and with in minutes my miniature horse rescue began! I put the word out and soon found myself even knocking on doors asking to buy the mini's that I could see from the road that were not being properly cared for. I have since successfully re homed over 35 mini's & ponies with an excellent knack for matching the right horse with the right person! :*) Rescuing, recovering & allowing horses to live out their golden years in my retirement program has become rather expensive and I've had many people suggest I become a non profit & ask for donations & apply for government grants. I did look into it & was both surprised & disappointed to discover just how expensive & extremely complicated the process truly is. I'd have a hard time asking people for money ... I was raised to work hard & pay your own way and that's when I came up with yet another idea ... what if I start selling all the hard to find miniature horse tack & supplies using any profits to help fund my MINI'S MATTER rescue program! That's how Alexandra's Miniature Horse Supply came to be! :*) I would like to say a special THANK YOU to a man who might not be aware of just how much he is truly loved, admired and respected! This man has made it possible for all my childhood dreams to come true by giving me this wonder opportunity to raise, train and now rescue miniature horses. His name is Lew Hollander and he is my Father. Although, we've been apart for most of my life he made it possible for me to move from Calif. to Oregon 11 years ago. Due to his kindness and generosity my life has greatly changed for the better! It's because of my Dad that my mini's and I have a safe and secure place to call home! Thank you Dad!
