This is my small bay Quarter horse mare 'Tassels' who's been with me for years. I call her Grandma not only cuz she's getting lots of grey hairs but because she's now 42 yrs. old this year (2010)! She's been doing really good without needing to much extra care. I do worry about her keeping enough weight on during the winter months but she seems to be doing just fine. I bought her this fancy new extra warm blanket to wear when it gets really cold. She refuses to be foo-fooed and will not tolerate being put in a stall or even drink from a heated tank! She was a pasture pony when I bought her and try as I may she doesn't like to be pampered at all! I guess she is old enough to know what she does & doesn't want by now!
